Here around Breisach in the Upper Rhine Rift Valley, the warmest region in Germany, we learned viticulture from the Romans in ancient times. According to European wine law, we are the only German region that is equal in quality to the regions of France. Spoiled by the sun, not only hops and grain, but also sun-hungry fruit varieties ripen for our distillates.
